I really enjoyed this bk. The author's style of writing worked well for me. There was too much time spent on tying up a mystery subplot near the end of the bk (at least to me) and this detracted from my enjoyment of the bk and prevented it from being a keeper. The romance between the mature hero and heroine was believable and well done. I would rate this bk a B and look forward to reading other bks by this author.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Caroline Linden keeps the reader interested page after page. The reader doesn't get bogged down with the details. A second son marries a country widow but gets cold feet so he uses his brother's name on the marriage certificate. Unfortunately, his brother is a duke with a stern, icy-cold demeanor. The sparks fly between the H/H. There is also a mystery to solve which adds to the tension.

This is one of Linden's earliest books, and every bit as delightful as the later ones. I highly recommend it, together with the others in the Reece family series, "What a Rogue Desires" and "A Rake's Guide to Seduction".
