I found this to be a very interesting story for the time period. If you love historical true stories you will love this one. I did have to skip some parts about how they killed hogs, etc..because it was too graphic for me. The whole book is very graphic but that is just how the family lived. Good read!

author's style of writing is difficult to follow also not as great a story as I thought it would be. I would give it 2-3 stars WISHED I HAD NOT BOUGHT IT AND INSTEAD USED MY WISH LIST OH WELL
