An excellent read! Was definately one I had trouble putting down. It is a story about Jesus Christ's last week before he is crucified and also of Simeon, the man who helped carry the cross for Jesus...I highly recommend reading this book.

One man is on a desperate journey in search of personal redemption. The other man's journey will provide redemption for all. Meet both men as their lives intersect during the week of the greatest drama in history. Through their eyes see Caiaphas, Herod, Pilate and Judas - and understand the all-too-human motivation that we share with them. Meet the disciples, Mary and Martha, and others whose lives were forever changed by the Messiah.

This is the first book I have read written by Sigmund Brouwer... It is very captivating... you are taken back in time 2000 plus years ago to Jerusalem. You will come to know our Lord Jesus in a different way. Excellant novel with a litte bit of fictional history.

This story follows the character of Simon who is fighting many demons. His journey takes him to Jerusalem where he experiences the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus. Simon is not a follower but his interest in Yeshua peaks as he watches in the background the last few days of Jesus' life. I found the story interesting and easy to follow. You empathize with Simon as he moves through his struggles.

I enjoyed this book. It gave me a new perspective on my view of the Middle East and how Christ has called us to show love to all people. Love hides a multitude of sins and draws even the darkest hearts to Christ.

The Crucifixion story from a completely different perspective. Well written and moving, this is a refreshingly different view. A beautiful story - I highly recommend it. D.
