This was a good story and a real page turner. I enjoyed it to a point. However, when it came to the climax of the story, when you learn the who, how, and why, I felt quite disappointed. The "Bad guy" (do not assume the gender from that label) is revealed, but their motive is so convoluted and confusing, you don't really understand why they did what they did. Furthermore, a sentence here or there earlier in the book made it pretty obvious to me who the "bad guy" was. I like a little mystery in a suspense novel, and big twists are my favorite thing in a mystery book. I wouldn't call this a big twist at all, even though that was obviously the author's intention.
