I'm a big Sophie Kinsella fan so it is with a heavy heart that I can only give this new story 2 1/2 stars. I listened to the unabridged audio version - no complaints there. It's the story I had the problem with.

Sophie Kinsella is known for writing lovable, madcap, funny heroines who make mistakes, but in a way that makes the reader laugh out loud and love the characters.

This book focuses on 2 sisters, neither of which are very likeable and both who are rather stupid. Lottie, after being dumped by her boyfriend, meets up with an old flame - Ben - that she last saw 15 years ago. She agrees to marry him (he's an ass - not well written, nothing even remotely likeable about him, other than his smoldering eyes and tight butt). She goes off to Greece for a honeymoon and to consumate their marriage.

The other sister is Fliss, a bitter divorcee, who is determined to stop her sister's consumation so that she can get an annullment instead of being a "bitter divorcee" like Fliss. She manipulates other people like a hot knife through butter. Only thing about her that's likeable is her 7-year old son, Noah.

Into the mix comes 2 other characters, Richard, Lottie's boyfriend who realizes he's made a mistake, and Lorcan, Ben's business partner who also feels that Ben is making a mistake by getting married.

That's basically the entire story. It's wrapped up very quickly at the end as though Kinsella herself was as tired of the storyline as the reader.

A delightful tale of love and marriage. Lottie and Ben get married for the wrong reasons. Lotties sister knows the marriage is wrong and everything goes wrong on the wedding night.
