My first thought before I read it was that sequels are never as good as the first. But I was wrong in this case!! I enjoyed this book just as much as the first!! It was romantic and just a "make you feel good" book! I love it and it's one of my favorites by Sparks!
This was the first book I read by Nicholas Sparks after seeing (and loving) the movie version of the Notebook. I've been hooked on his books ever since and don't think you can ever go wrong picking one up. I loved the chance this book gave to see what the results were of the beautiful love story in the Notebook in addition to its own moving story. I gave my mom a copy to read and would recommend this to any of my friends.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. How real relationships get to where they are, not by huge issues, but by slowly fading over years. What a great reminder to tell those we love that we love them.
This book is a follow up to the The Notebook. I really enjoyed this book as well. There is a twist in the end that is kept a secret throughout the entire book till the end. I had trouble putting this book down and highly recommend reading it if you have already read The Notebook.
After reading this book, you just want to say "ahhhh." It is sweet and heartwrenching. Love described at its best. The perfect story of a when a marriage can survive.
There was something about the tone of this book that just did not set well with me. While I can sometimes get pulled into books that have a somber story line, this was one book that did not have that effect on me.
I have never been a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I never found The Notebook to be quite as touching as most people found it to be, so I should have known his other books wouldn't live up to the hype that has come from his popularity. However, I have enjoyed a few of his books, but more often than not, I have found his books to be rather dry and/or dragged out. I was bored with this one very early on and it never picked up for me so I put the book down. I do not regret not having finished it.
Follow-up to "The Notebook". I've enjoyed all the Nicholas Sparks books that I've read. This was no different. A marriage of thirty years is in jeopardy of falling apart - from lack of attention more than anything. Life has a way of obscuring what we hold most dear. If you're lucky you get a chance to make amends and show those you love and cherish just how you feel. A very "feel good" book.
Very real feeling and romantic. I didn't realize that it's a follow-up book to the Notebook, which I loved. The ending has a very surprising twist that made me cry. I read this at the time I was preparing my own wedding. Loved it!
"The Wedding" is one of the best of Nicolas Sparks many novels. Not really a sequel to "The Notebook"; it definitely provides some clues to what happened to Allie and Noah. "The Wedding" is about Noah and Allie's daughter Jane and her husband Wilson and family as they prepare for a wedding. A touching story of love rekindled, after thirty years of marriage.
This love story was just as wonderful as The Notebook. If you liked (loved) The Notebook, then this is a must read. The end was unexpected and beautiful.
After thirty years,Wilson Lewis is forced to face a painful truth:the romance has gone out of his marriage. His wife,Jane, has fallen out of love with him,and it is entirely his fault.
Despite the shining example of his in-laws,Noah and Allie Calhoun, and their fifty-year love affair,Wilson himself is a man unable to express his true feelings. He has spent too little time at home and too much at the office, leaving the responsibility of raising their children to Jane. Now his daughter is about to marry, and his wife is thinking about leaving him.But if Wilson is sure of anything,it is this:His love for Jane has only grown over the years, and he will do anything he can to save their marriage.
With the memories of Noah and Allie's inspiring life together as his guide,He vows to find a way to make his wife fall in love with him...all over again.
Great story of a couple married 30 yrs who have drifted apart. Can they pull their relationship back together before it's too late? They spend a lot of time preparing for their daughters wedding. Total surprise ending, that made me cry. (happy tears, not sad) Highly recommend.
