I'm probably the world's most romantic human being, I see the beauty in everything and old things are what I love the most. Give me an old Victorian with crumbling gingerbread trim and tread wear to it's hardwood floors over that beautiful new mansion across the street any day. The same goes with an old book or an old piece of jewelry, I love to imagine who turned the pages before me, maybe a young lady sitting on her porch swing on a summer day or the beau who surprised his sweetheart with a brooch he saved for a month to get. I'm the type who doesn't see wear and tear in things but love and care.

When I picked up The Wedding Dress, a story of a mysterious and beautiful 100-year-old wedding gown that finds its way into the hands of a modern bride-to-be, I immediately knew this was going to be my kind of book and it was in so many ways, it was like some of my imaginings brought to life in book form! Rachel Hauck combined everything I love into one story - antiques, weddings, romance, and mystery. It doesn't matter if you love contemporary romance or historical romance, christian fiction or no, this book is terrific. I will admit part of the story concerning Mary Grace sidetracked me a bit and sort of took away from the general flow of things but in and of itself it was still an interesting "bit" of story. After having read The Wedding Dress and getting to know Charlotte, our heroine, I have to say I could definitely read more of Emily, Mary Grace and Hillary in their own books. This was such an enchanting story and had the feel of a modern-day fairy tale that I wish more author's would write.

All in all this was a great book which I highly recommend if you are as much a romantic as I am! ;-)

Charlotte Malone is a young woman who has always put up walls instead of forming a lot of friendships/relationships. She has not been in love often and finds her independence to be a crutch instead of allowing others to get close in fear that they may leave in one way or another. Through mysterious ways, she ends up with a trunk that is welded shut and with no clue as to its contents. Once she gets it open and finds the most beautiful wedding dress, she embarks on a journey to find out about its past owners.

What a wonderful book. I absolutely loved taking the adventure with her to find out about the past of the dress along with finding out about her past. The author seamlessly weaves together stories from the past and the present without having the reader get lost in the middle. The pieces all fit together in the end to create such a magical story.

Few things are more important to the bride then what she wears on for her big day. A book that centers around this very thing was beautiful and should be read by those who are already married, in the middle of planning or have a dream of getting married one day.

When an unplanned purchase of an old trunk at an auction leads bridal salon owner Charlotte on a quest for answers, her planned, safe world takes on new discoveries. One wedding dress, made in 1912, four brides. Historical, Christian-based fiction. Wonderful read!!!!

This was an interesting look at the history of a wedding gown and the stories of each bride who wore it. Each story is unique and touching in its own way. I enjoyed the premise for this story and the journey that Charlotte took to find the owner of this unique wedding gown. Full review is at my website.

The Wedding Dress belongs in a league completely its own, with a tapestry of love stories that will, as the cover endorsement so perfectly stated leave you breathless.

I was easily impressed with this novel. Four women. Four generations. Four love stories. One dress. The story has a tinge of the ethereal, but whats the point of fiction if you cant enjoy the chance to make a story capture the light of the impossible?

With four stories to weave into one, I thought parts of the plot would feel lacking, but quite the contrary. I wanted to spend more time with these characters, but not because I felt I needed to know them better, but because they become a close part of my life in such a short time.

I loved the little quirks of dialogue, character depth and portrayal and the seamless weaving of all these stories as though one large and gorgeous tapestry.

Being a hopeless romantic, the thought of one dress, always fitting the bride with no altering left me just a bit light in the chest. But it was the stories of these woman that moved my heart. I cant explain it much beyond that, because there was so much to love about this book. But the story trumps all.

The Wedding Dress holds a promise, both the dress and the novel. And one that will find a most fitting place on my keeper shelf. No altering required.

This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publishers through Litfuse for my copy to review.
