This is the best book I've ever read by Chalker. Most of his work is so-so, and always involves people changing species and/or gender. I have a degree in biology and found this book to be enthralling. It is the only book of Chalker's that I refuse to give up-it's earned a permanent place on my bookshelf. What higher endorsement can there be?
