David Poyer is still turning out Dan Lenson novels (this was his 11th), and they still set a high standard in writing, unusual plots, and gripping action sequences.

Poyer, himself a retired naval officer and Annapolis graduate, introduced us to his protagonist years ago, and we have enjoyed immensely following him through his Navy career.

The English department at Annapolis offers a course in books about the sea. It used to feature books by Joseph Conrad and Herman Melville. Now it also features books by David Poyer. Need I say more?

I've given each of his Dan Lenson books at least 4 stars; this one gets 5.
