Keeps you wondering, on the edge of solving, but with the ever surprising twists and turns that leave you astounded at the end, shaking your head and thinking, once again, an amazingly woven story!!! What a great read.

Another great Inspector Morse mystery, this time, he is chasing unknowns; where is the missing Swedish student? Where is the poetyr in the newspaper coming from? A very very good read

Fairly typical Morse story - seriously convoluted Brit mystery
One of the best mystery series I've ever read, and that's saying a lot as I have read well over 100 series over the years. Dexter really created a couple of fine detectives when he crafted Inspector Morse and Sergeant Lewis. I was sad to read of Dexter's death in March of this year. If you love a good police procedural with well-defined characters, superb description, and plenty of mystery, then you'll enjoy this series. I highly recommend this series as well as the BBC Inspector Morse series. I find reading the books enhanced by having watched the series. I will forever see John Thaw and Kevin Whatley as Inspector Morse and Sergeant Lewis and the lush backdrop of Oxford as the setting.
