First in series but each can be read individually. A book you can't put down until end.

I read Close to You and loved it! so I decided to go backwards and read the other two prescott sisters stories. I never should have bothered. The interesting characters and well thought out plot line found in Tonue in chic was glaringly missing in this book. The herione was complete milktoast...and I really really hate the whole relationship built on a lie storyline. Come on, really...does any relationship like that really work. NO. I did the speed read version of this book. Sighing in relief when it was over. Too bad there is not a satisfaction guarantee on some of these books. $7 is a lot to waste on nonsense like this one. Skip the first two prescott books...go straight to Close to you and read Christina Dodd from there. It is obvious her writing has greatly improved over the years. Her new stuff is great.

Sometimes you just need to sit back and enjoy a sweet romance. This fit the bill. Of course a happy ever after ending but getting there was a fun ride. I am looking forward to the sequel which I just found on PBS; so when I need a break from my mystery thrillers I will pick up a C. Dodd book and take a break!

This isn't a new idea but it is a well-told story. Poor girl, Hope falls in love with rich guy, Zack but doesn't know he's rich, he leads her to believe he is only the butler. Zack has been burned too many times by women who only want his money. Hope is poor but a wonderful caring person. She has been burned every time someone finds out about her past so she's skittish as well as a virgin. The dynamics between Zack and Hope are wild and entertaining. The other part of the story is a mystery. Hope's parents were killed in a car wreck and accused of embezelling church funds. Her sisters and brother were split up and put into foster care when their parents died. Apparently there is some kind of conspiracy in their home town to hide the truth. Of course, Zack is going to do everything in his power to find her siblings and uncover who framed and killed her parents.
When I started this book, I kept thinking I'd read it before. Now I know that I read book three in the series, which is why it was so familiar. Now I just have to get me hands on the second book [book:Almost Like Being in Love|358851] so I can continue the adventure.
