I really enjoyed this book! Angela moves to Maine after meeting a man on the Internet, but he is not what she expected! She befriends several people in the town; works at the coffee shop, gives cooking lessons, rents a 'little shack' where she has to heat with a wood stove, gets a dog! She is trying to 'find herself' and discover what she wants from life.
I thought the book was going to get a little bit 'deeper' than it did at the end but it was still a great read!

"The Way Life Should Be" is funny, at times sad, very current and reflective. It may never be mistaken for deep, introspective literature; but, for an excellent book that will hold your interest, this is a definitely a winner! This is my first Christina Baker Kline novel and I can't wait to read more!!

In a very small remote town in Maine she meets a cast of characters with quite the personalities and each of them help her find herself.
I have read a few books that have this same concept as woman goes to the middle of nowhere to find a new path, but I loved that a dating website took her there - gave the book some originality. I loved using the remoteness of this town in Maine to make Angela feel even more isolated and made her really look within herself to find out where her true passions lay.

Good quick read, being single in my thirties I was able to relate to what she was going through
This book is excellent, in fact, I unknowingly read it twice. I want to go to the Upper Peninsula now and experience it.
I loved this book! The Italian grandma, the recipes, the courage to start a new life, making new friends, and learning that you don't have to have a man in your life to make you happy. Life in a small town on the coast of Maine! What's not to love!
Very light reading, yet a fine summer read for those who have dresmed of leaving the city for the country life.
After reading the author's intense Orphan Train, I was hopeful this book would be equally well-written but unfortunately it was just chick-lit fluff. What a disappointment. I truly expected more from her. Lame story about gal looking for new life, heads to Maine to meet guy she falls for online (first warning), ends up working in coffee shop (second warning), and rents a shack that needs lots of work. (third warning) Finished reading it just to see if it got better, but alas, it was a snooze.
