This book suffers a bit for being dated. Changes since the 1960s make some of the story, involving a halfway house, a little wacky. But if, as I do, you like Donald E. Westlake's (here writing as Tucker Coe) plain prose and succinct style....you'll like this too. This is the third book in a series of five about Mitch Tobin, a cop thrown off the force and then occasionally, against his will, drawn into crime solving.
