It was written in a style consistent with the first two. It was a pretty good book and I think if you liked the first two, you would also like this book.

A complaint I have would be that Anna is *still* making the same mistakes and vowing to correct them. Will the girl ever learn? Her character really needs to start changing and growing. The secondary characters are not getting enough plot time to develop them into characters you know and love. Maybe there was just too much packed into this novel to be able to do that?

Max; he seems like he is an interesting character and I liked what happened between him and Anna. I also like the inclusion of the witches as another sub species in this book; it is nice to get some new fun things in there.

Will I read the next book? Probably. I do think there are better series out there. But these books are a quick read, fast-paced, and draw me in; so I will keep reading them. I just hope that Anna starts to get herself together a little bit better and grow some as a person.

The third in the Anna Strong Chronicles, this paranormal action thriller is filled with well .. action! Anna Strong is a bounty hunter and newly turned vampire. Learning her new strengths and weaknesses, she is trying to "control" her vampire side when things get a little crazy. Someone is trying to kill her, and Stein does a good job of weaving several scenarios into one strong plot. Character development and humor are a little thin but still good. How many times must the heroine sleep with different men? It just gets old after the first few times... but the action and a few sidekick characters keep things interesting. Stein writes the action scenes strong and very vividly. High marks for that! I'll look forward to reading the next in this series to see how Anna develops. Overall, not a great read but good nonetheless.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Anna is still a great, strong character. The book starts out a little slow. Lots of action further along in the book. Anna's life continues to get complicated. It is still a good read.

Really enjoyed this book. It's a new series for me, and I read the 1st 3 books in three days. Highly recommend this author, and other reviews which suggest a combination of Charlaine Harris and Laurell Hamilton are correct, although, thank heaven, sex is not nearly as graphic as LH's most recent.

Entertaining. Draws you in.

Anna is finally getting used to the vampire way of "life" when she learns there is more than just humans and vamps in the world. How will Max, her DEA boyfriend, fare? Will she expose vampires to the world with her reckless bahavior?

Third in the series about new vampire and bounty hunter Anna Strong. I like this series; it's fast-paced with a lot of action, I'm familiar with the San Diego/border area so I can easily visualize the scenery, and I think the characters have a lot of potential. What I'd like to see is Anna learning from her mistakes. This seems to be a trend in the urban fantasy genre these days - we have all these great kick-ass strong female protagonists but they all walk around with an eternal chip on their shoulder, just waiting for a fight, and never willing to take advice from anyone. I get why this can be appealing...many of us women are too accommodating to our detriment, so we have these characters that act out how we feel. For me, though, it's getting tiresome; I'd like to see her interact with someone normally and not fight all the time. I will definitely read the next one, but if Anna doesn't grow I expect I'll stop before too many more books.
