This is the second in Patterson's new series for Young Adults (The Dangerous Days of Daniel X is the first one) and it is written in classic Patterson style ... short chapters that leave you hanging and wanting, almost NEEDING to read more (Or as I like to call it ... "I'll read just one more chapter until before you know it, there are no more left to read").

I read this book in just a few hours (just like the first one) and although I did like it (it has some funny bits that made me chuckle because I could actually see my kids saying or doing the similar things) ... I did find this one to be more geared for the young teens or young adults than the first one in the series was.

It's definitely science fiction and definitely NOT like anything he normally has written in the past (besides the Maximum Ride series ... which is also for teenagers) ... I think this might be a good series to start a kid that hasn't really been into reading before (even my son, who has hated reading since he was small, was intrigued by the short chapters and he even compared it to like Men In Black ... which I thought was insightful, because it is ...)

If you didn't like the first one, don't bother with this one ... but if you enjoyed the first one, just be prepared that it is more "teenager" than before.
