Detective Josie Quinn and her team are called to the local high school. The body of a girl has been found during the prom. No one knows who she is or how she got there. It takes some digging to learn that her name is Gemma Farmer. She was reported missing nearly six months ago. Her body seems well nourished, her clothing is new. Where has she been all this time? Details of her murder come to the attention of Josie's boss, Chief Chitwood. He tells his staff about the unsolved murder of his teenage sister who was killed twenty-five years ago. There are too many details that are exactly the same. It looks like the same killer has struck again.
The Detective Josie Quinn series is still going strong after fourteen books. In this one, we learn about Chief Chitwood's past and what drove him to become a cop. He is a character that came into the series around the fourth or fifth book. We have learned very little about him until this book. I loved how he worked the investigation with Josie, bringing his knowledge of his sister's murder to help solve the current murder. This is another can't miss book in the series. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
