Hardback. I suppose if you can keep straight the 100 or so nobles connected to the Houses of Lancaster and York and how they were related, you can make some sense of this. Robin Neillands (he's a he) makes an attempt at keeping it simple, but he does jump forward and backward in time a little too much for me.
