One of my favorite books of all time. I have three copies, so I thought I'd pass the love. Miles Vorkosigan is military mad, 17, and tetragenically stunted. He comes from the most famous military family on Barrayar and desperately wants two things more than anything else in the universe - to impress the girl he's in love with and to live up to his father's expectations. And with the help of his inscrutable and terrifying batman, a broken-down jump ship and an exponentially expanding fleet of bedazzled mercenaries, he just might have a shot.
Great book.

This series about Miles Vorkosigan is terrific, and this particular title is one of my favorites. I've re-read it many times. The characters are well drawn and the story is believable, and even humorous at times.
I enjoyed this thoroughly!
