Good, solid old fashioned romance novel.
Love this story!
awesome, can't put it down.
Wow!!! This is a good old fashioned sexy medieval romp -- I LOVED it!!! I will be reading MUCH more by Nicole Jordan in the future!
For five turbulent years Ariane has dutifully prepared herself for marriage to King Henry's most trusted vassal, the legendary Norman knight Ranulf de Vernay. But cruel circumstance has branded Ariane's father a traitor to the crown. And now Ranulf is returning to Clarendon, not as a bridegroom...but as a conqueror.
Survivor of a hellish youth, Ranulf knows well the treacheries of noblewomen-and mistrusts the regal, defiant beauty to whom he was once betrothed. But while he shields his wounded heart with impenetrable armor, she sears his soul with sensuous fire. Ranulf may have vowed to claim her lands and her body as his prize, but ultimately it is the mighty warrior who must surrender to Ariane's proud, determined passion-and her remarkable healing love.

I almost hate to part with this one...it's one of those 'keepers'. Romance readers will know what I mean!
I love Jordan and this is one of my favorites! This is worth reading!
good book
This is the first Nicole Jordan novel I've read, and it was very good.
Set in 1150's England and Normandy, it tells the story of Ariane of Claredon who is left to defend her father's castle from Ranulf de Vernay, while Ariane's father is away and declared a traitor to the crown. Ranulf takes over the castle with ease and takes Ariane hostage, only to discover that he is the one who is being held hostage by Ariane's deceitful beauty and charm.

A bold conqueror on the outside, but a passionate lover within...
