A classic science fiction/fantasy crossover from what many consider the Silver Age of Science Fiction. Stasheff writes an optimistic novel of an agent from a high-tech galactic society who infiltrates a planet of people stuck in a medieval society. There he must complete his mission while keeping his true nature secret from the populace.

I have loved this series for years. Love it, love it, love it. It's a genre-bending and unexpected gem that I now forgot how I first encountered. I would recommend this book to any Sci-Fi/Fantasy reader (but you have to enjoy both!).
