If you love dogs, as I do, this is an interesting book. I remember the war dogs of Viet Nam which I had some interaction with.

Even though I wasn't close to any of the dogs or handlers, I was really upset when I found out the Viet Nam war dogs were left in that country. I can't even imagine how the handlers felt. Fortunately, that is no longer U.S. policy.

The description mentions dogs from the Civil War and Viet Nam, but 99% of the books is about the dogs and handlers of the Mid-East wars of this century.

There are some really nice human/dog stories in this book.
