Meet Candy Carmichael, she and her best friend Cheri left Bigler, NC for better things. They did real well and then their sparkling world came crashing down. Cheri returned to Bigler in the Book Cheri on Top. Candy came to visit and since she had nothing to go home to, she decided to stay till she could get back on her feet a bit. Things are different now in Bigler, but Candy still wants to leave. She is always looking for Bigger and Better things. Will she find what she is looking for in Bigler?
Susan Donovan is a clever writer and her stories are easy to read. I have enjoyed many of her books and this series is a winner too.

Not too bad. A first for me by this author. Light, fun, contemporary. I didn't realize they were a mixed race couple until I was reading the book. And Turner was hot! The first sex scene was awesome too. She had built the chemistry up to near frantic for the scene, and it played out beautifully!
I actually liked this one more than the first one. It's still quite fluffy but there is a crude sexy edge to it (lots of dirty talk). There wasn't much of a plot (consistent with the first book) but I definitely found Turner drool worthy in a caveman kind of way.
This was centered around Candy finding her place in life and learning to trust. There were a few times I found her resistence to Turner a little frustrating. Just like I found the description of Turner's house with the lingering touches of his dead wife a little creepy. Both were fun characters to read.
Fun read if you don't have high expectations.
