I really enjoyed this book. I worked in Dairy Queens in Texas from 1976 to 1997. McMurtry is a great writer.

Larry McMurtry skips around, considering the Western frontier and its impact on people--esp. his own family, his life as a writer, book scout and seller, and as a parent. I like his novels and was interested in learning more about his own life--including his interesting reaction to open heart surgery.
