Comical and heart wrenching at the same time. The main character is capable in all that she does but somehow is always overshadowed by someone else - usually a family member who gets the attention and credit. She makes a snap decision to end her life in the background and be her own best self. A little slow at times but ultimately a good read.

Wallflower in Bloom is an off-beat entertaining read that will hook you from page one. Deidre is the middle child, and not being one of those myself, I can't relate, but it's not a good place to be. She's invisible. Everything goes to the oldest and youngest, and Deidre is always left out. When she gets out of college, she goes to work with her famous brother Tag, a self-help guru, as his personal assistant.

Tag is very demanding and her life isn't going so great right now anyway. She just found her out boyfriend is about to marry another woman. If that isn't bad enough, she's pregnant and he always told her he never wanted kids. Fed up with it all, Deidre quits her job and tries out for an open slot on Dancing With the Stars. Not only does it change her life, but it changes her outlook on herself.

From the author who brought us Must Love Dogs, Wallflower in Bloom is another must-read. Deidre is a diverse character who really comes into her own and then some. Hilarious, sad, uplifting and a riveting read, don't miss this one this summer! Stick it in your beach bag now!
