The adventures on board the ship hold your attention, and the confined space makes for a whodunit in the grand tradition, since there are only a handful of suspects. Once the action changes to New York, interest flags a bit. I grew quite weary of the heroine's actions, although the denouement shows the logic behind what she does.

All in all, an okay mystery in the Golden Age vein.
