About 248 pages out of a 320 page book are primarily letters from John to Vivian, with a few chapters of remembering from Viv. It was an ok read that bordered on a snooze fest.

I am a big fan of letter writing. The majority of this book are love letters that are very honest from Johnny Cash to Vivian. You are able to learn about his strong beliefs he had while courting her and how much that changed once he allowed drugs to enter the picture. I really admire Vivian and her courage to let out her story after all the years of silence she had. I loved to learn about what their relationship was like.
