Pritish authors seem to be the best for fantasy fiction, and this is no exception.

The children in the book, near the ruins of a castle, suddenly find themselves several hundreds of years previously, and find that they have important roles in ridding a werewolf of an enchantment and saving a kingdom. I don't want to ruin the story. My main objection is that the story was too short!

A good children's book written with Stewart's customary grace and style.

deeper and deepr into the woods they walked. Deeper and deepr into the magic spell of Wolf Wood and a fantastic adventure of medieval magic. There two children picnicking with their parents are sent back into the world of the fourteenth century to rescue a kindly werewolf from a terrible fate.

There within the enchanted forest where the romantic long ago and the present overlapped, they meet the noble Lord Mardian. Once th Duke's favorite, he was cursed by an evil sorcerer to roam the woods at night as a werewolf. Only these children from the future and the power of his magic amulet could release him from the spell. But once the spell was broken would they find themselves caught in a fourteenth century world of betrayal and danger?
