Even though I'm an adult, I enjoy Young Adult and/or Children's fiction. That is, usually. Not so, in this case. It takes a good three-quarters of the book to get to anything of substance about the witch trials, and while it does take some set up, I mean, C'MON! I would never dream of recommending this dry, tiresome book to a young person. The author tries to use the speech patterns of the time, but that drags the momentum down further. The author did plenty of research, but the delivery sapped my interest.
