I honestly don't know what to write about this book...it was INCREDIBLY DISTURBING. And yet, I was so totally & completely hooked that I couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in one afternoon!
Yes, it's about a girl who has amnesia. Yes, it's about her memories as they start coming back & revealing snippets of her life & who she is. Yes, she finds a great love in those memories.
But it's really NOT that simple. The book has two realities--a "real world" and a "memory world"--and so much is left up in the air...it stays very confusing & yet completely engrossing from start to finish.
A good read??? One I liked??? I honestly can't answer either question. I think, like the book itself, it just...Is What It Is.

This book was somewhat disappointing. I love the concept and it started out by reeling me in. It is good reading most of the way through and it is a quick read. It just winds up leaving a vague idea of what is going on without really explaining how these things came to be. Not very satisfying in the end.
Quite interesting read. I found the concept of alternate realities a good basis for this romantic tale. It's thought provoking and if I have any concerns it was with the repetitive agonizing that Ava experienced as she tried to cope with her new life as Jane's daughter, Ava. Realizing that she came from a different world and had fallen in love with Morgan whom she can never forget, Ava strives to determine how her life should be lived. Should she return to the bleak world where she was a nobody or continue to live as Jane's Ava? I liked the ending but it left questions in my mind. Perhaps the author has a sequel in mind.
