Th peace corp's earliest work was done in Chile. This is a book about Thomas Scanlon's account of his experiences in Chile and how simple ordinary people can help change people in a place that was ripe with challenge and danger. A place that can change not only the people that were meant to be helped but the core of the volunteers themselves.
