Didn't much care for this book. There were too many things going on and not enough explanation, and I didn't care for the writing style. Someone else might like it - it just wasn't for me.

Fabulous SF story- wonderful characters who battle each other for world domination. Interesting religions, a vampire who is on the side of good, heroic protagonists. Highly recommended, along with McMullen's other SF series which starts with Souls in the Great Machine about a world which lost Tech and is back to primitive power.
