very well written novel concerning the imaginary life of Marie Laveau , a real life voodooniesse . Although this is a fictional account of a real woman, it was a really good book & I enjoyed it very much. Another 5 star read! Thank You author Robert Tallant!

I really enjoyed this book. I was not familiar with the Voodoo Religion and even though this is classified as a fiction book, it is based on real people and events in Louisiana.
A compelling, edge of your seat, fantastic read. Robert Tallant does a superb job recreating Marie Laveau's Era. No history collection would be complete without this historical work of superb fictiion. Tallant also brilliantly recaptures the true essence of voodoo in New Orleans, and gives this book a divine presentation and ending. This book has an authentic craftsmanship, that will leave you believing that you were right there experiencing the voodoos with the Mother and daughter of the voodoos themselves.
