The book starts off with a situation where a religious elite, the Covenant, is dominant over what they consider a lesser class of people. I found this to be a bit offputting but stuck with the story. I'm glad I did. The book has a very satisfying ending that I didn't see coming which I prize highly. It's a very nice rea
