What a downer of a book. It was engrossing up to a point. Storytelling was top-notch, as always with Robin Cook. The story itself, well the first half was ok, but all in all I give it a resounding thumbs-down. I kept reading, hoping for something positive to happen in the main character's life. and then, the story conclusion was one of the most radical, disappointing endings one could ever imagine. I did not see that one coming, and that is NOT praise by any means.
