I just love these historical romances that are actually based in history; somehow it seems more realistic. I enjoyed the push/pull-love/lust between the hero & heroine. However..........in a very serious time when everyone had to be verrry careful what they did & said, the heroine came off as a rather stupid, tunnel-vision, naive, one-track-mind. Even I could spot that trap a million miles away, yet she blindly blundered on (& yes, I do have children, so I don't accept that as an excuse) Still, the brutality of that era should have made her sceptical. All in all, a really good read.
I loved the characters and the whole love story. Great read!
