Talk about a 'blast from the past,' this cookbook is nostalgia in capital letters. Probably the thing I enjoyed most was reading about where the recipe came from (and comparing it with where I remember getting my copy years ago). I didn't really expect there to be nutritional info -- and it is not there. Thanks for the explanation of vinegar pie; I'd always wondered how it came to be.

I've just recently had sawdust pie for the first time and wanted a copy of the recipe. Lo and behold, here it is. I live in the hill country of Texas and it is wildly popular here. I was so glad the author gave the original recipe for making mincemeat pie. I know we can get a jar of it to use, but I've wanted to know what was really in the concoction.

Nostalgia-buffs will love this book.
