You're going to need to suspend your disbelief for this one... and be prepared to laugh.
I'm not familiar with romance novels, I'll be the first one to admit it. But upon hearing that there exists a such thing as Viking/Military Time Travel Romance, well... who could pass it up? I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I feel like for the price of a swap, I benefited even if only because I was made to giggle, guffaw, and chuckle at the humor this author wove into the book.
It seems a little odd, but yes, a Viking warrior is thrust from the 11th century into modern-day Iraq where he is rescued from a tricky situation by some Navy SEALS. And from there, it snowballs. The author builds up some very likable characters in the rest of the Viking clan and the other SEALS, but here is your warning-- the true plot could be contained on a scant few chapters.
A literary masterpiece it is not, a funny and slighty-raunchy read to keep you happy on the beach or pull you out of a dull mood? Absolutely.

Loved this book as I do all of her Viking books. It has funny, witty dialogue and hot steamy love scenes... a page turner..
Great book! The ending made me cry.
I've enjoyed other Sandra Hill time travel books and decided to read the Viking II series. All 10 books in under 2 weeks.
I gave this book 2 1/2 stars.
This is the 8th book in the Viking II series, and it was about Thorfinn, filled with machismo and sexism to the max, in search of his lost son. There were sad and funny moments. Took a few chapters for me to get into it and finish reading it in order to move on to the next.
He annoyed me with his women-are-for-having-babies attitude as did Lydia with her woe-is-me-this-dude-looks-like-my-dead-husband-so-I-gotta-fall-instantly-in-love-with-him goggles. Felt like a fluff novel. Was great to revisit with the old gang of characters though.

Sandra Hill incorporates a wonderfulol mix of erotica and humor. I would find myseld laughing out loud at time. This book is about a Viking that travels into the future to interact with the modern day woman. Sexy and funny!
This was the first in the time-traveling Viking books I have read. It made me laugh so that was good. I am not sure I will read any of the others but I had fun with this one...
