Military Science Fiction tale, sequel to Peacekeeper by Laura Reeve. Military Reservist Ariane Kedros, goes to a remote outpost, as part of her civilian work. But the Outpost is taken over by Isolationist Terrorists who have stolen a weopon capable of incredible destruction. It takes all of Ari's skills and cunning to avoid repeating the obliteration of millions. This book is gritty, action-packed, filled with espionage and intrigue. Great sequel.

Ari is trying to resume a normal life after everything fell apart during a mission in the previous book. She and her employer are prepairing to head off to the system where they found evidence of advanced alien life just before "Peacekeeper". The need to meet with representatives of the groups that have leased exploration rights from them. However, a wrench is immediately thrown in the works when Ari's other (military) employer's right hand shows up and demands that they take him with them.

Off in a different area of space Ari's military employer has just been informed that their former enemies have misplaced a temporal distortion weapon (which is a very big deal).

This book is still a good book. I think the plot is a bit weaker than in the first book - mostly because the author is running 4 or 5 side-by-side character arcs in a book that should really have only 1 or 2. It seems like each character's story is not given the attention that it fully deserves.

However, the characters are still very strong, well written characters. I enjoyed reading about them and look forward to reading the next book.
