I was looking for a lightweight read and decided to give this a try. It is a story about two couples that are going through divorce at the same time and a romance develops. As in most divorces, it became a messy situation and unfortunately exploded into a violent one. The whole thing takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area where the California divorce laws apply. The book walks you through experiences that one might have going through a divorce but these divorces were filed after the children were grown, not requiring custody battles and child support payments. I felt that this made the story a little less interesting because the ongoing drama from the conflicts around children weren't there. There is also an extra story going on about a Catholic priest and his internal conflicts. I waited to see if there was a tie-in to the divorcing couples, other than their friendship with him, and nothing ever emerged, leaving me to wonder why the story was included. Loved the cover but the book left me wanting something else in the story.
