5 Stars! I was completely engrossed and enchanted by this book. It's one of those books where the characters get in your head, so when you put it down to go do whatever else you have to do, you can't stop thinking about them, and can't wait to find out what they do next. It starts off with the H&H, Malcolm and Suzanne finding a dead body. Then they are running for their lives, across the rooftops of Vienna. The murder mystery that follows is complex, and so is the relationship between the two of them. They are already married when the story starts, but under unusual circumstances, and they are each keeping secrets from the other, that each is afraid would be deal breakers to their marriage. As the plot develops, and they try to solve the murder together, they, and the reader, gradually learn what those secrets are, and Malcolm and Suzanne learn to trust and admit their love for one another. This book is emotionally intense, in a subtle way, but not sexually explicit, so if that's what you're looking for, try elsewhere. The writing and historical research are wonderful, and the author really captures the Viennese atmosphere. Many real characters and events are woven into the story. Suzanne is an intrepid heroine, and at a certain point in the story her husband is out of commission and she has to carry on herself and rescue him. If you are a fan of C.S. Harris, or Joanna Bourne, you should love this book. Apparently the author is writing a sequel, and I can't wait!
