I really enjoyed this book. It was ironic that it the story of the victory happened to land in this little girls hand. Just at the time in her life when she needed it most.
Children's historical, with some magical aspects, like most of Susan Cooper's books. Tells, in his own words, the story of Sam, a farm boy kidnapped to serve on the Victory, Admiral Nelson's ship famous for the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, but also tells, in the third person, about Molly. a 20th century English girl transplanted to the United States and not happy about it. When Molly visits her English grandparents and is taken to visit the Victory, she has an experience of seeming to see the Battle of Trafalgar through Sam's eyes.
