I suspect this is the last book of this series , Captain John "Black Jack " Geary. I didn't think this book matched the series, as being a load of information and jumping to and from battles , but it was enjoyable enough to keep the readers interest. I enjoyed the whole series and look forward to more exciting stuff from the author soon ...

if you have read the series up to this point this book with continue but seem to have less action and more filler. I'm sure most fan's of Jack Campbell will enjoy this book .

This was a fantastic ending to the Lost Fleet series. Geary does what he needs to, and while the alien menace is touched upon, it is very obvious this is a setup to another series, hopefully about the aliens vs humans.

The Lost Fleet series has been good all the way through. The over long space battles found in books 3-5 are not found here. Some good battling, but not the chapter upon chapter we've had before.

And Geary finally gets a much needed break right at the end of the book. Good for him.

Nice end to the series, but guess what? Black Jack's got to go back. Yep, now he has the Aliens to deal with, and a lot of the Syndic humans aren't quite ready to admit defeat. So there is a sequel series. I haven't started that one yet.

While not classic sci-fi, this is well-written space opera and I enjoyed it.
