Lady Octavia Petrie fell in love with Edward Barraclough's two young nieces on sight. She assumed the roll of their governess just so she could be with them.
The house that Edward rented belonged to Octavia, left to her by a aunt. The house had feelings, when Octavia first arrived at the house it seem to smile. Charming story.

In a case of mistaken identity Lady Petrie works as a governess to a couple of orphans for a few weeks and their bachelor uncle, Edward, ends up being taught a lesson too.

A comedy of errors by an author with a deft hand at creating characters who all get what they deserve thanks to a house with a personality of its own. All in all, a very satisfying Regency story.

The ISBN shows the author as Andrew, Andrew, its actually Andrew, Sylvia. Anyway, a good story set in historical England. A case of mistaken identity leads to lots of interesting turn of events. Not a usual historical romance.

Edward Barraclough's happy bachelor existence is thrown into a spin when he is forced to look after his two orphaned nieces. Employing the right governess is vital. Miss Petrie has the girls' support, while he has reservations. Unassuming and a little dowdy she may appear, but Edward suspects she's neither so humble nor respectful underneath!

Independently wealthy Lady Octavia Petrie is on the verge of confessing that Edward has mistaken her for someone else. In a moment of sheer madness, prompted by his cynical attitude, she finds herself accepting the temporary position. From Lady to simple Miss what has she let herself in for?
