Introspective of a couple's search for their angels. Interesting.
This one lost me. The author and his wife travel to the Mojave desert seeking to speak with their guardian angels where they meet with an extraordinary groupthe Valkeriesa roving band of lesbian motorcyclists. It is their leader who guides them on their search. What they found I have no idea as I gave up on the too symbolic treatise. Proceed at your own risk.
If I had to choose one favorite writer, it would have to be Coelho. His writing has a quality that anyone can relate to, in my opinion anyway. The Valkyries is no different. Although he seems to put a bit of himself into all his work, Valkyries is the only book I've read of his that is outright autobiographical. He tells the real story of his adventures with his wife in the desert. He talks openly about his practice of magic and his fear of destroying things most dear to him. Valkyries is one of my favorites of Paulo's books.
I never got around to reading the book due to lack of time, but I have read other books by the same author and they have all been very good.
I enjoyed the author's writing in this book. Imagery is good and the idea for the story is very imaginative. The story itself is quiet, certainly not a huge page-turner for me. It's more of a soul-searching type book.
His books always come into my life when i need them. Primarily it's teaching me to tame my mind, and expand my moment to moment awareness from 3 feet around me to the sky.
I love his books, they're all wonderful!
