*Yawn* Good writing but a dull plot. Way too vanilla for my taste. Gabriel was an endearing hero, but Emmaline's devotion to her angry son become tiresome, which ultimately dragged out the story unnecessarily. However, I did enjoy the history and time period beginning at the Battle of Badajoz. Still, it's not the best historical out there. 3 stars.
