This book was challenging for me. The "hero" was a complete jackass for almost the entire book. Even after the typical major disaster when hero has the epiphany that finally makes him realize he's in love - he's still a complete jerk.
I know this is probably trivial, but I also felt cheated by the way Karen Ranney writes love scenes. This book is filled with them but she cuts them off kind of in the middle, they're making out, fall on the bed, suddenly it is the next day. Over and over again. There is some nice sensuality eventually in the book, but it never feels satisfying.
Although she is an OK writer, I struggle with her pacing, I struggle with story execution, and feel unhappy with the relationships. I really enjoyed only one of the three Karen Ranney books I've read, this will probably be my last.
3 stars (only because 2 stars would suggest it is poorly written, and Ranney is a good writer, I just don't care for it.)
