This was an enjoyable book, but I would recommend reading "Zippy" by the same author before you read this. "Zippy" covers the author's early childhood. This book picks up and covers the years into the early teens. Although I liked this book, it wasn't as well written as "Zippy." It seemed like it was written in a hurry, and wasn't as concise and well-organized. Both books tell the true story of the author's childhood in a small town and a dysfunctional family. The author had a happy childhood in spite of many family issues. To her they seemed normal at the time. An interesting book for anyone who grew up in the 50's and 60's like the author.
