I used to read Jayne Ann Krentz's series books for Silhouette and Harlequin back in the day. I remembered her stories as being snappy, fast moving, full of independent women and strong but verbal men, and she hasn't changed -- but I find that her books, though skillfully written, are now too formulaic for my taste. I can guess what will happen and how it will all end. I would say this book is okay if you want a fast read that you won't at all remember any more than you remember 90 minutes of bad series TV. That kind of book has its place but this is the last time I blow $7.99 on one.
