Heather B. Moore writes delightful novels, and this one is no exception. Pine Valley librarian Olivia Harmon grew up believing her best life would come if she married a physician. To that end, she has sought physicians as marital partners. Finally, she is dating one of the physicians of Pine Valley and thinks she's well on her way to her best life.
One day, she encounters a bearded man in her library who she thinks is homeless. After Mason disabuses her of that notion, she goes on her way. When they meet on the next day on the ski slopes, Livvy is disconcerted.
Before long, Mason (a famous fiction writer) and Livvy had seen lots of each other. When Livvy's boyfriend gets wind of the situation, he makes a significant move for Livvy. He asks her to meet his parents. However, Livvy is torn between the two men: one who takes her for granted and one who is moving back to San Diego soon (as soon as he finishes his book).
This book is well-written, and the characters have clear motivations. It keeps the reader's attention until the last page. Overall score = VG.
