Love with a Proper Stranger: I enjoyed this story even though there are a lot of holes in the story like how was the coffee poisoned and why was it so important to get a picture of Serena when she was just going to get plastic surgery again. I also thought Mariah/Marie would stand up for herself more but she takes a lot of crap from both John and Serena. But overall the journey John and Mariah have to go through was a good read.
Letters to Kelly: It was an interesting way to write this story but it was really slow. Halfway through I realized I was forcing myself to read it and gave up. There wasn't a lot of interaction between Kelly and Jax, although the process of Jax writing his book was entertaining.
Don't think it was worth the credits or real money unless you are a huge Brockmann fan. But then if you were, you probably would have read these already.

A great way to catch up on Brockmann's earlier works! In Proper Stranger, the reader knows the hero really loves the heroine even though the character he's playing to catch a serial killer shouldn't reveal it. Wonderful beach scenes and a climactic ending. Letters may be the only meta-romance I've ever read. Two romance authors fall in love as he teaches her through words and actions how to show the emotions characters are feeling during love scenes - one for the keeper shelf!

Love with the Proper Stranger
FBI agent John Miller was on the trail of a notorious female serial killer, and he couldn't blow his cover to anyone. Not even the beguiling Mariah Carver, who had unwittingly entangled herself in a web of deadly deceit. The daring lawman couldn't deny his feelings for Mariah, but he was poised to wed another woman: the ruthless Black Widow, who marriesthen murdersher victims.
Letters to Kelly
For years, a trumped-up chargeand a Central American prison cellkept Jax Winchester from claiming the girl he loved. Now he was a free man. Or was he? He was still a prisoner, in a jail of his own making. The way out this time? Keep that promise he'd made to Kelly O'Brien all those years agoand claim her for his own.
I loved the second story. The first was pretty good too but for me it felt like a slower read. Both are reprints of Brockman's earlier work but I enjoyed reading them.
